School supplies donated to Pray-Woodman Elementary School
In late September, the Maize Education Foundation launched a spirited competition on Facebook, inviting the community to nominate their favorite Maize USD 266 school. The stakes were high: the school with the most nominations would receive a donation of at least $1,000 in school supplies, courtesy of the Maize Education Foundation and Project Teacher.
During the highly anticipated Maize South High School vs. Maize High School football game on Oct. 11, the Maize Education Foundation proudly announced Pray-Woodman Elementary School as the contest winner. In a special on-field presentation, Foundation board members presented Assistant Principal Callie Harris with a certificate of recognition.
Adding to the celebration, Pray-Woodman Elementary 3rd grade teacher Taylor Gonzalez was honored with a $500 classroom stipend, recognizing her dedication to her students.
Later that month, volunteers from Project Teacher and the Maize Education Foundation delivered the school supplies to Pray-Woodman Elementary. The school received one box of essential supplies for every classroom, totaling more than $6,000 in donations.
Congratulations to the students and staff of Pray-Woodman Elementary School!
